To me, an elopement is a wedding with 30 or fewer guests, commonly known as a micro-wedding. An engagement shoot the perfect way to help you feel more relaxed about having your photo taken. It’s also a great opportunity to meet up and get to know each other before the big day! They are a lot less busy than a wedding day, so it’ll give us time to chat, have a wander around your favourite location and have a laugh in the process. Travel is included within 50 miles of Newcastle, so we can find the perfect spot to celebrate your love. I'm excited to work with you and create stunning, genuine engagement photos that you'll cherish for years to come!

SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER

Many couples wonder if they need a second photographer for their wedding. Having two photographers provides significant benefits. With two shooters, we can capture both the bride and groom's preparation simultaneously, ensuring comprehensive coverage of those special moments. Additionally, we can document reactions from both sides of the ceremony, ensuring no emotional moment is missed.

For weddings with over 100 guests, I strongly recommend hiring a second photographer. While the lead photographer focuses on the couple portraits and family formals, the second shooter can capture the energy and excitement of your guests enjoying the festivities. This dual coverage will result in a more complete visual story of your entire wedding day.

TRAVEL

I'm excited and ready to embark on a new adventure! If your wedding is within 50 miles of my base in Newcastle, I'm happy to photograph it for free.

However, for locations further afield, my travel rates are 45p per mile.

Overnight accommodation may also be required to ensure I arrive on time and can safely return home. If the wedding is abroad, the cost of an economy flight and any necessary accommodation arrangements will need to be factored in.

ADDITIONAL HOURS OF COVERAGE

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I live in Newcastle Upon Tyne in the North East of England. A perfect location to travel for weddings in Northumberland, County Durham and North Yorkshire.

  • Once you submit an inquiry through my website contact form, I will check my availability and respond within 48 hours. If you don't hear back from me in 72 hours, please check your spam folder or email me directly at info@alemansantanaphotography.com.

    After we discuss your needs and you decide to proceed, I will provide the booking forms and contract for you to complete. To secure your date, I require a non-refundable deposit of £300. The rest of your balance is due 6 weeks before your date.

  • My style is a modern blend of timeless documentary with an editorial yet natural flare. If you want to hear more about it, please check this link for my Approach.

  • For travel within 50 miles of NE16, there is no additional charge. For locations beyond that radius, my travel rate is 45 pence per mile.

    For venues more than 1.5 hours' drive from NE16, an overnight stay the night before your wedding will be required. This is to minimize the risk of delays, such as from roadworks, that could impact my arrival on your wedding day.

  • I often hear couples express concerns during our pre-wedding calls, but I PROMISE you my relaxed, laid-back approach will quickly put those worries at ease. My goal is to capture you at your most comfortable and carefree. I have a wealth of techniques to help you feel relaxed and have fun on your big day. Booking a pre-wedding photoshoot is the perfect opportunity to address any lingering concerns and ensure you feel confident and at ease in front of the camera.

  • Securing your wedding photographs is my top priority. I have comprehensive online and physical backup systems in place throughout the entire process to ensure your irreplaceable photos are never lost or misplaced.

  • The hour before sunset, known as the "golden hour," offers the most beautiful and romantic lighting. The soft, warm glow during this time creates an ideal setting for your portraits.

  • I understand how important group photos are for capturing special moments with your loved ones. To ensure you and your guests can fully enjoy the occasion, I recommend limiting formal group shots to around 8. This will allow me to focus on preserving the more candid, natural moments - the spontaneous laughter and joyful tears that make your day so special.

    During our Pre-Wedding Questionnaire and Consultation, you'll have the opportunity to create a comprehensive shot list of the family and friends you'd like photographed. Don't worry if you're unsure where to start - I'm happy to provide guidance and suggestions.

  • I promise to deliver all of your fully retouched wedding photographs within 4 weeks of your wedding day. For Preview Shoots you will receive your Gallery in 48 hours unless it is a Destination Wedding, in that case Preview Gallery will be available within 7 days.

  • For a day spent mostly on my feet, I opt for a smart casual outfit that balances comfort and appropriateness for the grand occasion.

  • Yes! I carry full Public Liability, Indemnity insurance coverage and Equipment Insurance coverage. Should any venues request proof, I'm happy to provide my policy documents. No responsible professional photographer would work without insurance - it protects both them and their clients. I strongly advise against booking with any photographer who is not properly insured.

  • As the photographer, I hold the copyright to the images captured during your wedding, as is common practice among wedding photographers in the UK. However, you will receive a personal use license, granting you unlimited rights to use the photos for your own personal purposes. This allows you to share the images on social media, create albums, order prints, and distribute them to friends and family. The only restriction is using the photos for any commercial or business applications.

  • I understand your request for the RAW files, but I'm afraid I don't make those readily available. This is quite standard practice in the photography industry.

    Let me explain why, rather than seeming like a mean photographer. Viewing RAW files requires specialized software like Adobe Lightroom, which can be expensive and is typically only owned by professional photographers. This means the RAW files are not accessible to many of my clients.

    Additionally, the majority of the images not delivered to you are outtakes - photos with people blinking, making odd expressions, out of focus, or with poor lighting. So, the RAW files often don't reflect the final, polished images you receive.

    I put a great deal of care and creativity into the editing process, refining your images to have the style and quality you see in the final deliverables. I hope this helps explain my position on sharing the RAW files. Please let me know if you have any other questions!

  • Your gallery will be online for 12 months from the day of your wedding. After that, it will be taken offline and RAW images deleted.
